Cristina Suárez focuses her
international commercial litigation practice on asset recovery and fraud and
creditors’ rights. Her experience includes fraud tracing and pursuing
assets in federal civil and criminal forfeiture proceedings on behalf of
defrauded clients.
As a native Spanish speaker, Suárez provides counsel to Astigarraga Davis’ international
clients. Suárez graduated magna cum laude from Florida International
University with a B.S. in English Education. As a Dean’s Scholar
Scholarship recipient, she earned her J.D. magna cum laude and graduated
first in her class from Florida International University College of Law.
While in law school, she served as president of the Board of Advocates,
comments editor for the FIU Law Review and was recognized on the Dean’s List
every semester. Suárez was also a semifinalist
at both the Robert Orseck Memorial Moot Court
Competition and at the Regional Round of the National Moot Court
Competition. As a law student, she received the CALI Book Awards for
Excellence in Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Immigration Law, Antitrust Law,
Legal Skills & Values I, II, & III.
After serving as a law clerk at Astigarraga Davis, Suárez moved to Orlando, Florida to serve as a
judicial law clerk to the Honorable G. Kendall Sharp, of the United States
District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
Suárez serves on the FIU College of Law Alumni Board. She is
a member of both the American and the Dade County Bar Associations, and is
admitted to practice before all Florida state courts as well as the United
States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She is also a
member of the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida. |
